Sophia Karoline Aamand Uddin is a 22 years old photographer and student, born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In this series of photos, Sophia wanted to convey the bonds that we share as human beings. She believes bonds are the bedrock of our societies and through the bonds that we create both consciously and subconsciously we have reached further than ever before, with still limitless potential for where those bonds can take us.

This photo series is a vehicle for Sophia to encourage the viewer to explore all types of bonds, those tangible bonds that we can see, touch, hear and smell, such as the ones portrayed in the images of the mother and daughter. Also, those invisible bonds that connect us to memories, feelings and things such as our favourite toy or our homes, maybe even to a lost loved one or a season of the year.

Through these photos Sophia implores the viewer to explore themes of intimacy, tranquility and openness and use the striking and contrasting colours to see things from different perspectives.

Sophia encourages all those that view these images to declutter the secret spaces within their hearts and minds and allow themselves to be stripped bare and bask in the vulnerability and stark emptiness of these pictures. It is only by becoming the simplest forms of ourselves that we can form the most complex and long-lasting connections.

Formed in 2016, the Phight Club Collective is a group of like minded photographers exploring the visual arts. The groups interests cover a broad spectrum ranging from documentary to impressionistic imagery. Phight Club provides an active forum for its members to gain informed critique on their projects. The collective publishes a biannual zine highlighting members work.

Born in 1979 in Portugal, Carla Santos moved to England with her two small children five years ago to change in her life. A fresh start after her divorced and decided to pursue one of her passions.

Carla’s pursuit of a career in photography led naturally to her applying to study a photography course at Lambeth College. During her studies, Carla end up developing a passion for alternative photography mainly photograms and cyanotypes.

Carla created a series of cyanotypes focused on the female body where she used large format negatives of original nude digital photographs she shot and mixed them with some objects and textures creating photograms (print by contact) for her course final project .

After two years of hard work, studying and raising her children alone, Carla finished her UAL diploma in art, design and photography, where she very proudly passed with distinction.

Abhilasha Dhamija is an artist. One of the clearest and fondest memory that Abhilasha holds from her childhood is all about spending hours and hours scribbling in sketchbooks, fillingout colours in drawing books and doing lots of origami! Its one of the dearest things for her to do when she wants to relax and be stress free.

Lately, Abhilasha has developed a keen interest in photography which has helped her to celebrate her love for the art in a digital form.

With photography,  Abhilasha gets that freedom to portray her own fantasy world on a glossy paper. Everyone has a type, as they say, some are better at wildlife photography, some at portrait shots, etc. and although she hasn’t discovered her genre as of now, Abhilasha particularly enjoys clicking nature and macro-photography.

By profession, currently Abhilasha works as a Customer Success Manager in an IT firm, making sure she keeps her clients happy but when she is done for the day, she usually has a lot of things to catch-up on and photography tops that list. Lets just say, even if Abhilasha takes a stroll down the road, she is sure to find something worth a click.

This is Abhilasha’s very first time having any images put to a gallery and is sure that the London Photo Show is a great platform to start off with. Her photo collection is all about celebrating nature and its vivid forms co-existing as humans, animals, birds and other countless species. We share the same space in this world, have built our own ecosystems but are hugely dependent on one another. Abhilasha has tried to capture such living souls in varied forms and sizes.

Abhilasha is really excited about exhibiting her work at the Bargehouse Gallery (she is already in love with its location) and she is sure it would be a good experience.

Mike Potts grew up in Pennsylvania and in 2005 moved to Arizona where he’s rarely cold and he doesn’t have to cut grass.

Mike graduated from Bucknell University with a major in English and a minor in Chemistry. He worked at Barnes & Noble for four years where his greatest achievement was becoming “that guy.” (There’s a story there for later).

Currently, Mike pays the bills as a nuclear medicine technologist (sounds impressive right? You put nuclear in front of anything and it sounds good. Nuclear Dog Food? Awesome!) This lets him write and photograph on the side without having to resort to living on ramen and sleeping on friends’ couches (however, in fairness he does like ramen and some of his friends have very comfortable couches).

The rest of Mike’s time is devoted to his spouse and various cats ( including one indoor and three outdoor as of the time of this writing. That’s cats, not spouses).

Mike’s ultimate dream would be to visit Mars. In the meantime he’s turning his focus (ha! photography pun) on family in-the-moment images and developing (another one, bonus!) his style on underwater and dream-inspired images.

Cathy Heald found photography fascinating from a young age – the composition, the light and the photographer’s way of seeing life.

Having moved to Italy in 2003 Cathy’s focus has included the obvious – landscapes and people; breathtaking scenery both in cities and the countryside, while taking candid shots of Italians going about their daily tasks always brings a smile to her face – the people here are so expressive, not only their faces but their gestures, and body language reveal so much.

Cathy tries to get out and about with her camera as much as possible as she finds photography a great way for relaxing and creating something which I can look back at in the future and recall the feelings and sentiments from that moment in time.
