She chooses close up images because by keeping an image simple, the attention of the viewer can be focused. Abstract images mainly come from the flowers themselves requiring little manipulation. Helen loves the curls, curves and hidden wonders.Helen’s garden photography focuses on the garden, as well as individual flowers – she hopes to tell a story of the garden as she finds it.During Helen’s photography, she loves the serendipity of finding bees far too busy to notice her or her lens and thanks to a good lens she is able to capture fine detail.Helen had always been interested in photography and once she picked up her first SLR she was hooked. Courses and qualifications in photography have furthered Helen’s knowledge and interest, from the silence and enforced patience of the darkroom, to the joys and frustrations of the digital age. Helen discovered that she has a good eye for shape and texture.
