David Barnett

08/03/2023 By Andrew Mason Leave a Comment

Artist and Writer, David Barnett explores the human condition in his photographs. His ongoing projects ‘Written on Skin’ and ‘Skin’, place people of different skin types, sexualities and genders at the centre of his work to search the human condition.

Words have been written on the skin as slogans to signify the connection that we all ultimately share, something that people can feel removed from when they prioritise money and technology. ‘How might things change if we prioritised kindness and compassion?’ The work explores the one thing that is at the core of our very essence …LOVE.

A graduate from UAL: Chelsea College of Arts …he has also published two novels, ‘An Alien By Circumstance’ (1996) and the ‘Darlings of Soho’. (2012). He is currently working on his third.
