Simon Short has a degree in Photography and he specialises in colour film photography.
Simon takes photographs using colour film in a medium format camera and he prints his images from negative in a darkroom (i.e not digitally).
These images are part of a documentary project, travelling the back roads of America, but with a difference. Simon’s travels across America are determined by only visiting small towns with a British, or in this case a ‘London’ name. Simon is photographing/documenting what he finds along the way, to build up a unique picture of America from an Englishman’s perspective.
This is a growing project, so to fill the gallery space Simon has added one or two other scenes found along the way. Simon tries to find the unusual in the everyday.
