LONDON PHOTO SHOW GETS SET TO RETURN TO SOUTHBANK FOR ITS SIXTH YEAR
The London Photo Show is set to return, in its sixth year running to the Southbank this autumn, giving professional, semi-professional, independent and amateur photographers from all over the world the chance to exhibit their work to the public in a professional and high-profile location.
Show organisers are calling upon photographers of all abilities to enter their most well-loved shots, which will be displayed at London’s Bargehouse Gallery, situated in the iconic Oxo Tower Wharf, between 11 and 14 November 2021.
David Monet
During evenings with friends, lonely walks in town, and trips abroad, I started taking photographs as a way to contemplate the time and place around me: urban photography, street art, colors in the night. Snapshots that simply say “I am here”.
These photographs become a commentary on memory and melancholia, fixed moments in an always changing landscape.
At London Photo Show this year, I’m presenting select photographs from three recent series.
• “Rental Living” revisits photographs taken in 2008 and 2009 in a cheap high rise in Western Canada, where my dreary living environment couldn’t mask the spectacular scenery and wilderness just on my doorstep.
• “Dark Pubs” was shot during the first UK lockdown in 2020, as I tried to make sense of the shutdown, chasing dark pubs all around London as an illustration of loneliness and isolation.
• “East London”, created between 2018 and 2021, is a visual documentary series on change, gentrification and urban art that is happening so rapidly in the eastern part of the city.
Guy Needham
His work is a hybrid of photographic genres, sitting somewhere between documentary and portraiture. The simplicity of his pared-down style often belies a nuanced observation and complexity of subjects. His work is described as having both a quiet intensity and a subtle momentum that balances light and composition, stillness and movement.
Glenn Davidson
I take visually striking photographs that reflect people’s character and story. With every image I aim to capture the essence and energy of the subject, showing their true beauty, strength and personality in the most natural and authentic way possible, always focusing on the individual, the photograph narrative and the final image.
Making a connection with the person in front of the camera is the most important aspect of my creative process from behind the camera, this enables the viewer to also connect with the person in the photograph.
I practice ethical photography, the principles that guide my work are respect, integrity and inclusivity.

ENERGY EXPRESSION
Started as a personal project to capture and showcase my inner energy in motion via colours and the project developed into a means to capture people’s energy via their personality and beliefs with me as the artist able to translate the way they see themselves into living works of art.
During this project I merged my passion for painting and photography into a single work of art by capturing people’s energy, their feelings, personality and beliefs. By using their bodies as the canvas, I take the opportunity to imprint their inner light through body paint. The final work of art represents who they are at that present moment in time.

Kieran Brimson
In his early thirties, Kieran has already enjoyed success on the international stage, with his work displayed across Europe, awards in major competitions and regular spots in magazines. Despite this success, he does not rest on his laurels, and continues to push himself to create beautiful, unique photography.
Kieran’s photography prints are high in contrast and colour, and he has a great understanding of how shapes and colours can work together. In the post-processing of a photograph, Kieran breaks down the individual elements of a landscape to get the best from them, but nothing is ever faked. He never replaces skies, or pretends a scene was something when it was not.

Stuart Lawrence
A/SYMMETRY has been a lockdown project. Since I wasn’t going out to take photos, I decided to ‘remix’ some of my favourite images. I wanted to put symmetry in where there wasn’t any before. Sometimes it’s obvious, sometimes not.
