He has been shooting landscapes for over 11 years and works out of his gallery in York. His work has been exhibited in galleries across the country and he is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society. His inspiration is the British landscape and the diversity of photographic material that can be found within it, from the rugged cliffs and crags of the coast to the tranquil beauty of the sweeping hills and valleys of the lakes, moors and dales.
When Chris is not out in the landscape building his portfolio he can be found teaching one of his many photographic workshops that are based in and around the UK and Venice. Courses range from one day photography workshops to more intensive, residential three and four day courses that also include overviews on the editing process using lightroom and photoshop. All courses are limited to just four participants to ensure plenty of personal attention. All tuition is by Chris. See website for further information.
The work on display at the 5th Base Gallery includes both landscape and city scenes, with images from London, Venice and the British countryside and coastline on display.
All images on show are hand printed by Chris, using Hahnemuhle cotton archival papers on an Epson Pro 7900 wide format printer. The prints are lightfast for well over 100 years. Chris will be in attendance over the course of the photo show, should you wish to chat about his work.
